My Story

Welcome! I'm excited to share my journey with you.

For two decades, I immersed myself in the corporate world, tethered to my desk for long hours. This lifestyle took its toll, leaving me with poor posture, weakened core strength, and the constant struggle to prioritize my health. I felt out of balance - disconnected from my body and wellness.

Discovering Pilates over fifteen years ago was a turning point. It wasn't just a workout, but a transformative practice that restored my core strength and reconnected me with my body on a deeper level.

As I entered my thirties, I realized the importance of pairing Pilates with strength training, particularly for women of color. We often face unique challenges, and research shows that we are at higher risk for conditions like heart disease and diabetes. Building strength and prioritizing wellness is not just empowering - it's essential for our long-term health and vitality.

Driven by my passion to bring wellness to women who look like me, I left the corporate world to follow my calling. I created my company to serve this precious community, empowering women of color to find their balance, reclaim their strength, and thrive. My mission is to be a trusted resource, helping you to achieve wellness that honors both your body and your journey.

My Mission

Having experienced the demands of corporate life firsthand, I understand the toll it can take on our bodies, minds, and spirits. We give our all in the office and at home, often leaving little energy to nourish ourselves. 

This realization fueled the creation of Curls & Pilates - a sanctuary where women like us can reclaim our health and well-being. It's a space to recharge, restore balance, and give ourselves the care we so often give to others. By nourishing our bodies and spirits, we can continue breaking barriers - in the workplace and beyond.

My Method

At Curls & Pilates, we believe in a holistic approach to wellness. Our programs are designed to empower women to strengthen their bodies, sharpen their minds, and nourish their spirits. 

Through personalized Pilates instruction and targeted strength training, we help women build resilience, improve mobility, and cultivate a deeper connection with their bodies. Our retreats offer a supportive community where women can explore new practices, deepen their self-awareness, and embrace their potential for growth.
